Day 09 — A Photo You Took

I don’t profess to be an expert in Photography, but it actually is something that I’m really interested in! A select few of my friends are SUPER skilled at it, including my friend Jack and my friend FallenRedNinja, so if you’re interested, so check their stuff out! 🙂

However, yes, I do take photos. So here are a few of my special ones.

Kaikoura

This one is special to me first and foremost because it was the first real photo that I was proud of, the first one that I took and thought – yes, I really do like taking photos! 😛 My camera back then was pretty average, so it’s not the best quality or whatever. But never mind 🙂

I took it while I was on a high school trip in Kaikoura, Marlborough. Kaikoura is honestly a beautiful place, and holds a piece of my heart. I was struck, that morning, by the stillness of the road, and of the mist rollling over the mountain, obscuring the horizon. And the road signs appealed to me, I remember that. It all sounds kind of romantic when you put it like that…

The Cool Glass

Okay, so I won’t lie – I played around with this one on Picasa 😀 So it’s more digital photography… but still, I was pleased with how it turned out! I took it in a cafe, I think I was just filling in time or something hahaa. I used my current camera, which still isn’t the best, but it’s good enough! I was impressed how it captured the detail here actually. *shrugs*

Sunset Sky

Cloudy Sky

I have a bit of an obsession with sky photography… so beautiful! These are also digitally adjusted for the light/shadowing etc. I just love it when I see an interesting cloud formation, or a lovely unusual coloured sky! It’s awesome. My friend Jack, the same Jack that I’ve already mentioned, taught me that the best sky shots always have something to ground them, to put them in perspective – hence, the trees, the roof, the power lines. Honestly, I used to just point my camera straight up at the sky and shoot! And although that ‘technique’ still gets pretty shots, it’s so much more impacting when you have something to measure the sky against, like I do here.

*coughs*

So yes! There’s my amateur photography skills 😉

Anyone want to share photos that you’ve taken? I’d love to see them!! 🙂

Have fun!
Bri xx

That’s okay, you deserve it! 🙂 Ohhh Kaikoura is magic. The 1/2 hour stop there totally makes the boring bus trip from Blenheim to Christchurch worth it! 🙂

      And thank you lovely!! *blush*
